Gytis seizes the opportunities to make a ‘beautiful’ career
Gytis Kuliavcevas, an accounts manager at Birkin Cleaning Services, one of the sector's leading innovators, describes his career path as nothing short of ‘beautiful’.
In 2010, Gytis left his university teaching position in Lithuania for the UK. What began as a part-time cleaning job soon blossomed into a fulfilling career. Now, he oversees staff across multiple UK sites, ensuring top-notch service delivery and client satisfaction.
“I love my job so much. Every day is different," Gytis enthuses. "I meet different people, work with different cultures, and go to different places across the United Kingdom. People think the industry is just about buckets and mops, but they are wrong. I can really make a difference.”
Gytis' journey is a testament to his employer’s commitment to employee growth. Starting as a full-time school supervisor, he seized every opportunity for advancement:
- becoming a Licensed Assessor
- achieving a Level 3 National Vocational Qualification as a Team Leader/Supervisor
- earning a Diploma in Management.
"To learn to clean properly, and why, is very important. No-one can survive without proper cleaning," Gytis emphasises.
